I'm receiving an award at work tomorrow and every time I mention it my mom asks "Is there a cash incentive?" Ugh! Isn't it just nice that I'm being recognized? They're giving me lunch and telling me how great I am, what more could I possibly want?

So I'm receiving an award at work tomorrow and every time I mention it (which has been maybe 2 or 3 times) my mom asks "Is there a cash incentive?" Ugh! I think it's nice that I'm just getting an award, being recognized, and don't care if there is a prize or anything. They're giving me lunch, what more could I ask for?!

It bothers me when folks sell other people's zines on etsy. I think it is wrong to sell other people's zines from your personal collection in general (as in, not being a distro, just selling your old stuff), and doing it on etsy, when it is not something you have made, makes it worse.

Hi zinesters! My name is Sabrina and I run Sunday Morning Distro. I just printed my newest catalog, and I want you to have a copy! The distro carries 26 awesome zines, nine of which are free and none of which will set you back more than two bucks. Sunday Morning focuses on zines that have something to say, meaning that each of the zines offer something like a tutorial, a recipe, or an innovative idea to share with their readers.

| list for 2010 |
[15 Jan 2010|01:11am] |
Right now I am baking some cookies from "Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar" and I decided that this year I really want to try and bake all the cookies in that book. Then I decided on a few other things I really want to do this year. This is not a list of resolutions, it's just a list of things it would be cool to accomplish. (My resolution was/is to eat more fruits and vegetables. The vegetable part is easy, but I really dislike eating fruit. Baking it into cookies helps.)
List of things for 2010: -Bake all of the cookies in "Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar." (Three down, 97 to go.) -Finish all of my bachelor's degree work. -Make J go to New York City with me. He grew up in Jersey and has never been there, which is sort of unreal to me. I mean, how does that happen? I've been going to NYC since I was a baby. I guess his parents weren't city folk. -Write a travel zine about my trip to Egypt.

| Things Zach and I did today |
[15 Jan 2010|12:58am] |
-Made fresh-squeezed orange juice -Pretended we were monkeys whilst eating bananas -Continued reading Little House in the Big Woods -Had mini ice cream cones after dinner -Played Dino Flip, a dinosaur matching game
Also, I: -baked chocolate oatmeal cookies -hung up some of his school art projects in the basement of his dad's house (a.k.a. his not-often used playroom) to spruce the dang place up -Forgot that the course I am taking is only 3 weeks long and I need to work quick -Found out that Jediism is an actual religion

| Today we... |
[12 Jan 2010|11:44pm] |
-Had Super Mario Bros. battles -Went to Uno Chicago Grill for dinner with the family. It was really good, and they have many vegetarian items on the menu, which is rare for a chain. -Read "Transformers: When Robots Attack." -Continued reading Little House on the Big Woods. I was taken aback to come across a derogatory word in our reading today. I suppose it was appropriate in the 1870s to to use this particular word, but I was surprised to see it in a children's book. I mean, I read this book in the second grade! I changed the word to "man" when I read it out loud.

[11 Jan 2010|10:13pm] |
-Drew pictures using a fresh 64-pack of crayons and a ton of dinosaur stickers -Read "Isn't Pig Won't Naughty?" by Richard Scarry -Ate pasta for dinner -Are currently growing dinosaurs form those grow capsule things. They are taking a lot longer than I expected they would. -Pretended we were gorillas and ate "gorilla crackers"
